Bristol veteran and Tectonic founder Rob Ellis, better known as Pinch is back on his Cold Recordings label bringing the dark rush to dancefloors for their 9th release with the two track EP scheduled to drop June 2nd.
First up is the massive Water Bomb, which made its presence felt on Mumdance’s ‘Fabriclive 80’ CD which followed with some heavy rotation Radio play for the sought after single. Now finally available after many requests which should please a horde of music enthusiasts out there who have been waiting patiently, Cold Recordings returns to form with this release blurring the boundaries between dance floor sensibilities and experimental spaces. The descriptively titled, Water Bomb lives up to its name, with distorted bass drum builds to the drop then an explosive dance floor assault with its delivery paired with a unique sound that makes this one stand out.
On the flip is the previously unheard ‘Cold New Worlds’, icy atmospheres and fractured drums that combine to make this slice of broken techno entrancing and unusual from start to finish.
